On 7 March, Ambassador Carlos Zapata López presented his credentials before the King of Bahrain, His Majesty Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, at Al-Sakhir Palace in Manama, to whom he conveyed the warmest greetings and good wishes on behalf of the President Kuczynski, in favor of strengthening more the traditional and friendly relations between Bahrain and Peru, the gesture which was appreciated and reciprocated by King Al-Khalifa.

Within the framework of a warm conversation, Ambassador Zapata and the Bahraini King discussed the importance of tightening political and economic ties between both countries, as well as the significant role that the ASPA integration scheme plays in bringing together the South American countries and the member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council. 

During the conversation, the necessity of maintaining the mentioned scheme was highlighted through following up with the agreements reached from the consecutive ASPA Summits, in addition to the continuity of the Sectorial meetings that the scheme framework had carried out.

It is noteworthy that Ambassador Zapata López is a non-resident Ambassador in Bahrain, and resident in Riyadh, where he is also Ambassador of Peru to Saudi Arabia.
